Help us preserve Lincoln Park for a stronger community and a brighter future.

Supporting the preservation of a wonderful neighborhood park.

Located at the corner of Beach & Henry in Ashland, Oregon, Lincoln School Park has functioned as a much-loved neighborhood park for generations — since Lincoln Elementary School was built in 1926.

The Elementary School closed in 2005 but the park is still owned by the School District. It is our goal to ensure that the park remains a park and that it gets into the hands of the Ashland Parks Department as soon as possible.

Lincoln School Park is an Ashland treasure that needs to be protected and preserved. Please join us in supporting this wonderful park and helping to preserve it in perpetuity as an official City park for future generations to come.

We need your help.

Together we can make it happen!

Please Talk to Your Local Representatives

COVID-19 hasn’t taken away our ability to write a letter! It’s really helpful if people in our community email our local leaders about this issue. They need to hear from YOU! Please encourage the Ashland School Board (and School District) to partner with the Ashland Parks Commission on this. You can go to their respective websites (Ashland School District, Ashland Parks Department, and Ashland City Council) to find contact info for all of our local leaders.

Community Clean-up Day Update!

We’ve held 5 Community Clean-up Days at Lincoln School Park (going all the way back to 2005 — Yay, Team!) and we’ve found that they’re actually kind of fun to do when it comes right down to it. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has prevented us from holding this event for the past few years. Ditto for 2022. But… that doesn’t need to stop folks from taking a bag (and gloves!) to the park and picking up trash as individual citizens who care! Thank you for taking the initiative in these challenging times!

Send a Postcard for the Park!

In 2019 we started our “Postcards for the Park” program. Turns out it’s actually kind of fun and creative — and good advocacy for the park at the same time. You can use a postcard from your travels (or from Bloomsbury Books, one of our local business sponsors)… or you can make your own, like we did. Then have fun decorating it! Be sure to mention something that you enjoy doing at Lincoln School Park and send it to members of the Ashland School Board, the Superintendent, members of the Ashland Parks Commission, the Director of the Parks Department, City Councilors, and even the Mayor of Ashland!

“Lincoln Park is my favorite place to play at. I learned to ride my bike here when I was five.”
